If you’re anything like me, the Easter weekend and associated public holidays often turn into a free-for-all of chocolate, lollies, alcohol, and other vices as we rush around picking up treats for loved ones & impending family gatherings… and maybe a bag of mini eggs for me wont hurt? Into the trolley they go.
While it’s definitely a lot of fun, I’ve personally come out the other end feeling low energy, having put on a bit of weight, and feeling generally uninspired.
The great thing is that we are all in control of what food we put into our body – so today I invite you to join me in making better choices for the next 7 days (or however long you can manage) that will help your body, skin & mind THRIVE. Lets shake off those post-Easter blues! <3
This smoothie is full of:
♥ Vitamin & mineral-rich leafy greens
♥ Gut-loving & cleansing fibre
♥ Antioxidant-rich berries
Get out your blender and lets go!
Post-Easter Glow Smoothie
♥ 2 x giant handfuls of mixed mesclun lettuce
♥ 1 x cup of frozen strawberries
♥ 1/2 x cup of frozen blueberries
♥ 1/2 x Granny Smith apple (this variety contains the lowest sugar content)
♥ 2 x cups of filtered water
♥ 1 x cup of ice if you like it extra chilly or would prefer to hide the taste of the greens a little more!
Recommended Optional Glowy Extras!
♥ 1 x tbsp Hemp Seeds – Australian brand Hemple is my fav!
♥ 1 x tsp Silica liquid – I use and recommend Bioceuticals
♥ 1/2 x tsp Camu Camu powder – I use and really like Loving Earth
Silica is an amazing mineral for hair, skin & nails and is abundant in certain fruits and veggies such as cucumber, but it’s not something that the body creates on its own – so supplements can help provide us with an ample supply of this beautifying mineral.
Camu Camu is an Amazonian superfood that’s high in vitamin c, bioflavanoids and other phytochemicals, and is detoxing, good for the nervous system & generally supportive to good health (Source: Loving Earth).
Blend up and ENJOY! <3
